TMC is a 245,000 square foot facility community hospital that houses a 24/7 Emergency Department and is licensed for 56 inpatient beds including an Intensive Care Unit, a Medical-Surgical Unit, Pediatric Ward, OB/GYN Ward, and an inpatient Adolescent Psychiatric Care Unit.
In 2018 NDBWC opened to provide an integrated and coordinated health care system where health promotion/disease prevention and medicine will come together to assist people on their Journey to Hozho. NDBWC is a facility with seven TMC departments, classroom space, physical therapy, education kitchen, and full-size fitness center that includes an indoor elevated track, volleyball/ basketball court, and fitness classrooms.
NDHC is a multi-care clinic located 3 miles south of the Interstate 40 in Sanders, Arizona. There are specialty clinics at both locations from Primary Care, Internal Medicine, Laboratory, Podiatry, Pediatrics, Dental, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Optometry, Pharmacy, Women’s Health, Radiology, and Diabetes Management.
Restructuring how healthcare is provided, FDIHB innovatively expanded access to healthcare with the purchase of (2) mobile health units or “Minute Clinics on Wheels”.

Fort Defiance sits at 6,836 feet in the high-desert of northeastern Arizona, on the Navajo Nation (in comparison, Phoenix, AZ sits at 1,086 feet). The Navajo Nation is 27,413 square miles (about the size of West Virginia) encompassing parts of northeastern Arizona, northwestern New Mexico and southern Utah. The capital of the Navajo Nation is Window Rock, AZ, located 7 miles south of Fort Defiance.
The region features a cooler climate than much of Arizona, and desert and mountainous landscapes influence local lifestyles and activities.
Located 225 yards from the front entrance of Tséhootsooí Medical Center, is open to employees for year-round fitness activities. Take a virtual tour HERE to explore our facility, built in 2018, which features weights, fitness machines, an indoor running/walking track, a full basketball court, and shower facilities. The Wellness Center also offers various classes, including yoga, spin cycle, and Zumba.
At FDIHB, our clinical and non-clinical staff work together to deliver exceptional patient care and enhance health outcomes for the sixteen communities we serve. With over 300 professionals, we handle around 900,000 outpatient visits, perform 22,000 surgeries, and manage 100,000 emergency room visits each year.
