The Nihi Dine'é Bá Wellness Center (NDBWC) is a shining example of a holistic approach to health, passionately focusing on disease prevention, encouraging healthy lifestyles, and nurturing vibrant communities. NDBWC comprises seven departments of FDIHB, including Rehabilitation Services, Public Health Nursing, Wellness & Fitness, Public Health Nutrition, Health Promotion & Disease Prevention, and the Mobile Health Unit that beautifully integrates health promotion and crucial medical services to enhance overall well-being. Through collaborative efforts across departments, the Wellness Center is devoted to guiding individuals on their Journey to Hozho—achieving wellness and balance.
Our state-of-the-art educational kitchen and fitness center, paired with thoughtfully designed classroom spaces, inspire individuals to actively participate in health education and outreach activities. In our expansive fitness area, community members can enjoy a range of physical activities through facilities like the indoor elevated track, volleyball and basketball courts, and a variety of fitness machines, making it easier than ever to prioritize health.

Yes, phones can be used for music, fitness apps, activities, e-reader, and workout videos. Wellness Center members must wear earphones for personal audio.
For HIPAA compliance, the wellness center prohibits photos or videos. Refer to posters on the gym floor for instructions. No phone calls or excessive texting will be allowed on the fitness floor.
Exercise classes will consist of low to moderate intensity movements and activity; meaning you’ll sweat, but you should be able to breathe without significant effort throughout the entire class. The classes are easy to follow, and instructors will offer modifications to meet your specific exercise goals. Modifications may include higher or lower intensity options or alternative moves
Yes, watching theorientation video is required when signing up to use the wellness center.
Yes, incentives are given for active participation in certain activities, events and classes throughout the year. One way to earn incentives is the wellness bingo card. Anyone can pick up a bingo card at a wellness education class. For more information, visit the wellness center front desk.
No, however, there are Fitness Specialists and Fitness Health Tech’s available to assist you with general exercise questions.
Yes, Wellness Center users are able to utilize the showers and lockers at their own discretion. Toiletry items and towels are NOT provided by the facility.
We recommended to set aside at least 20 minutes to complete the paperwork process for an individual plan and watch the orientation video. For a friends and family plan, additional time may be needed to complete paperwork.
No, Nihi Dine’e Ba –For the People Wellness Center does not have a swimming pool or sauna.
Wellness Center members must wear appropriate clothing during use of the Wellness Center.

Keep in mind we are closed every Thursday 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, closed on holidays as well asSaturday’s that fall before a FDIHB observed holiday. There will be gym closures throughout the year due to events, staff meetings, inclement weather, etc. Typically, announcements are sent through the gym membership software via email or FDIHB social media platforms.
