The Health Promotion and Disease Prevention team is passionately dedicated to enhancing health and preventing disease for the well-being of our cherished Diné community. Our thoughtfully designed programs empower individuals and families to embrace healthy habits, significantly lowering the risk of chronic diseases and improving overall health. Together, through these vital initiatives, we strive to cultivate a brighter and healthier future for all.

Goal: To promote the optimal health of community members and reduce preventable diseases within the FortDefiance Indian Health Board service delivery area.
Provide technical assistance to Chapters and community organizations in the areas of public health knowledge, grant-writing assistance, program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
The HPDP team offers fitness, wellness, and health education services to local communities within FDIHB service area. Programs such as:
Provides community and school-based cultural education services based on Navajo traditional teachings to promote wellness and a healthy lifestyle.
