We provide a continuum of services and care, while coordinating with community providers and referral sources from screening through
aftercare services.
The Adolescent Care Unit (ACU) at Tsehootsoo( Medical Center in Fort Defiance, Arizona is a 16-bed facility for adolescents ages
13-17 years old with psychiatric and Substance abuse problems.
Common psychiatric problems treated are Depression, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, Self-Harm, Trauma, Anxiety Disorders, other Behavioral Disorders, and Substance Abuse or dependence as a secondary diagnosis.
Treatment at the ACU revolves around the adolescents and their families. Our treatment program facilitates a strength-based approach as well as various evidence-based therapies. Services are also utilized as an integrated team approach that addresses the whole individual: emotional, mental, spiritual, physical, and cultural and social.
A multi-disciplinary team of professionals:
Psychiatric diagnostic assessment, psychopharmacologic treatment if need or elected.
