Our Human Resource team will review your application carefully to understand your qualifications. If your background meets the mandatory minimum qualification, we’ll schedule an interview.
As per Navajo Nation law, FDIHB follows a Navajo/Indian Preference in Employment Policy. Qualified enrolled Navajo Nation members receive primary hiring preference, followed by members of other federally recognized tribes. Other candidates are considered after preference-eligible candidates. - Interviews

After the interviews, we’ll come together as a team to discuss each candidate and determine who is the best fit for the role. Once we've made a decision or if follow-ups are required, we’ll contact you to let you know what’s next, including required fingerprinting for background checks. - Offer
It’s time to make it official! If you’re selected, you’ll receive a call from an HR generalist with a formal offer and all the details about your job start, compensation and benefits for you to consider. - New Employee Orientation
Once you accept, our HR team will set your start date to align with the next FDIHB New Employee Orientation (NEO). During NEO, you'll join other new hires beginning their FDIHB journey and participate in comprehensive presentations covering badge credentials, parking passes, emergency protocols, cultural awareness, compensation and benefits, and more!
After NEO, you'll transition to your department for continued onboarding. Your supervisor and team will welcome you, provide specific training, and set up your equipment and workstation.
Timeline
We understand that making a career move can be nerve-wracking, so we aim to be as transparent as possible. The average timeline from application submission to offer acceptance is about 30-60 days (depending on background check processing). Our HR team will keep you updated throughout the process. Once the position is filled, we notify all applicants via email that the job is closed.
Navajo/Indian Preference
FDIHB and its facilities are located within the Navajo Nation and, in accordance with Navajo Nation law, has implemented a Navajo/Indian Preference in Employment Policy. Pursuant to this Policy, applicants who meet the minimum qualifications for this position and who are enrolled members of the Navajo Nation will be given primary preference in hiring and employment for this position and members of other federally recognized Indian tribes will be given secondary preference. Other candidates will be considered only after all candidates entitled to primary or secondary preference have been fully considered.
